The 2016 Open Streets Festival was held on the iconic Karangahape Road. Wanting to make the most of the opportunity of visitors coming from all over the city, the K’Road Business Association wanted to implement a community engagement activation to provide information to feed into the upcoming Auckland Transport developments.
We created a set of three activations under the title ‘Dots, Lines and Conversations’. For the Dots we created three giant spinning wheels where participants could answer a series of multiple choice questions in a fun, visually inspiring interaction. For the Lines we created a set of ‘song towers’ where participants could write lines to songs themed around K’Road. For the Conversations we set up a mini-tipi where we helped draw out personal stories about participants and their experiences with K’Road.
The wealth of information gathered from the festival was collated into a report rich in both qualitative and quantitative data all themed around what makes K’Road unique.
