We recently helped develop and facilitate a street games festival through our work with the Wild Streets collective of ‘real-world’ game designers. Working alongside a group of designers, Toby developed and ran four games throughout the one-day festival held in Daldy Street down in the Wynyard Quarter in Auckland. Though aimed primarily at getting grown-ups to play, the festival drew in a great crowd of family groups allowing children to play alongside their parents.
The engagement throughout the day was amazing, and the willingness to participate amongst passers-by exceeded expectations.
The Wild Streets collective run regular festivals as well as monthly designer events aimed at discussing, developing and playtesting new large-scale games.
