For the past two years we have been involved with Auckland’s Laneway Festival. This year – our third – was our biggest and brightest and most fun! Again we had full creative control over Silo6 and we wanted to turn it into a fun, creative and playful essential pitstop for everyone attending the festival.
Wanting to up the ante on last year’s balloon pit, we created the ‘Chicken Death Dodge Ball’ room where three teams battled it out with dodge balls, beach balls and of course, rubber chickens. For a more relaxing activity we had a whole room dedicated to making collages and filling the walls with artwork. Our custom-made wheel of fortune greeted festival-goers as they walked up the stairs, helping them make new friends, learn some new tricks and let out their creative spirit. Our ‘secrets jar’ was back and we introduced a letter-writing station where anyone could write a letter to their favourite band and post it to them – we hand delivered all the letters at the end of the festival.
And again we had local artists help us decorate the space and bring it to life, adding to the truly creative and playful festivities.
